Chapter 6: Air

Air is all around us

Air is all around us. We cannot see air, but we can feel it when it moves. Air has no colour.

We need air

We breathe through our nose, so we need air. Plants and animals need air too. Moving air is called wind. A very strong wind is called a storm.

Uses of air and clean air

Wind makes a kite fly, dries wet clothes, turns a windmill and moves a sailing boat. A balloon is filled with air. Planting trees and not burning rubbish keeps the air clean.
