Chapter 8: Day, Night and Weather
Day and night
The Sun gives us light and heat. The Sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening. In the day we work, study and play. At night we see the Moon and stars in the sky, and we sleep. A full day has two parts: day and night. We should never look at the Sun directly, because it hurts our eyes.
Weather
Weather can be of many kinds: sunny, cloudy, rainy and windy. There are three main seasons: summer, rainy season and winter. It is very hot in summer, it rains a lot in the rainy season, and it is cold in winter.
Clothes for different weather
In summer we wear light cotton clothes. In winter we wear woollen clothes and sweaters. In the rain we take an umbrella or a raincoat. In the dark night we use a bulb, a lamp or a torch.
